My Dream by SeleneTheWerewolf My Dream by SeleneTheWerewolf
A work in progress. Through everything that happened at Sea World and even if they don't allow the trainers back in the water; though it would break my heart, I will still follow my dream and become a whale trainer. Made this while listening to the Believe soundtrack.

I used to live 15 mins away from a Seaworld, and since my Grandpa was a security guard I got to go in after close and see the whole orca cast x'3 I kind of wanted to be a trainer too, don't let your dream die! ♥

hey are making a new Shamu Show![link] I love the pic. That's my goal[link] They will let the trainers back in the water once they have enough safety devices, so far they have new nets, and barriers. I went to see a Shamu Show this summer and you just can't feel the connection anymore.[link]

This is very cute :)
I don't support dolphinariums, however I can understand your passion and your desire to work as a trainer, since I want to be a zoo keeper (this is kinda close) :)

Well, I am still against Cetaceans' captivity, at least in the current conditions. But being a dolphinarium manager and a marine mammal trainer are two very different things, and I have absolutely nothing against trainers. That's the managers I dislike. I'd like Cetaceans' captivity to be at least at the same quality level as the other animals'; in terms of environnement and enrichments.

I hope they will allow the trainers in the water again. =( I've seen a show in San Antonio while I was visiting my cousins and I coud tell the poor guys ( even Ky, he as waiting to watch his trainer get in the water) want the trainers in the water so bad. Great to see you want to continue to be a sea world trainer despite the bad media it has been getting all this year

Yep, nothing is going to stop me. They are actually going to make a new show because Believe is pretty much down the drain now, since the whole message was ruined by the death of Dawn. I understand them wanting to be safe, but its a bit terrible to pull the whole connection away from the animals they had grown up with. Thanks for the comment.

That's true, I wonder what new show they will have in mind? I miss the Shamu Adventure because not only was it educational, but we still saw interaction of the trainers with the orcas. It is terrible, it's only feeding more fuel to the anti-captivist. SeaWorld is trying to come up with some device to get the trainer out of the water when the orcas are agitatied, but really, nets aren't the way to go. (they are currently testing a net system to seperate the orca from the trainer)
And you're welcome

Hmm...The trainers should know when an orca is agitated and not let it preform. As for the anti-captivity, I think its better than to have animals in captitivty where can see them where in the wild they could be hunted to extinction.

That's what they always do, if an orca refuse to do anything they leave it alone and work with another orca, but most of the time the orca doesn't show extreme agitation until the orca finally throw their temper tantrum. And I agree with the captivity thing. There's no way that the captive borns will survive in the wild so I don't know why the activists think you can plop an animal out in the wild and walk away from it. They are only adding pain to the orcas and fiercer food compitition with the other resident orcas. Just sad really that people don't understand our views of captivity, they justsee properganda
